It's Beginning to Look...

...a lot like Christmas!

I did not let you guys down. Here are the [much awaited :D] pictures of our family's Christmas tree, fully decorated. (plus other Christmas decorated goodies!)

While our family's tree may not EVER be put in "Better Homes and Gardens" magazine for beautifulness, I love it! Not all the ornaments match (in fact, none of them do!) but I think it personalizes our tree- every decoration has some story behind it. ♥

Cutie teddy bears in Winter Love.

Our stockings! Since we actually spend Christmas at my Grandpa's house, these stockings are strictly for show. They're made from tapestry... and I have an embarrassing story to tell about them.
When I was little, I would find a whole bunch of trinkets around my room and hide them in my stocking JUST before we got in the car to my Grandpa's house. Then, when we came back from the weekend (or however long we spent there) I would rush to my stocking, and tell Mathew that I got things from Santa and he didn't! I was a horrible sister.

A different view of our mantle. In addition to stockings, we also have the cutest little winter village town-house type buildings that we put around the house. There's a toy shop, a little church.. they're stinkin' cute.

Our Nativity scene. We wrap each individual piece (as they're made of wood and EXTREMELY delicate) and this year, while unwrapping each man/animal, we got to the bottom of the box... and realized baby Jesus was not there.
Thankfully, we found him nestled in some tissue paper that we had already "sorted through". It was a Christmas miracle!

And how can we do Christmas without little Santa salt and pepper shakers?

What's your favorite Christmas decoration?

Our tree is always like that.. none of the ornaments match! I think it's more personal like that. :)

I love the mismatched tree! Matching trees have absolutely no character in my eyes.

I covet your salt and pepper shakers badly!

Loving the tree!!

I'm a big fan of all things wooden and organic, so my tree is filled with wooden ornaments and things made out of wheat or fabric :)

You get a gold star for having red beads on your tree. No tree is complete without them. My older sister got all our childhood decorations...I'm still a little upset about it.

Haha, you truly are a teacher, Elizabeth! Thank you.

Your salt and pepper shakers are SO cute! Ornaments SHOULD be mismatched and personal in my opinion. My family's tree is like that as well. This was me and my bf's first year getting a tree together and we didn't even have enough lights to cover the whole thing, let alone ornaments, but I still plugged it in every night! There's somthing about a lit-up Christmas tree that makes me feel so happy and cozy.
