Yes, those words are the definition of our drama costuming department right now.

I told you a month or so ago that I was in the play, "Just So Stories" (adapted off of the book by Rudyard Kipling), and these scenes have animals in them. A lot of them.
Well, if you're a costume designer and you need to make hats that act as heads for dogs, cats, horses, and camels.... the easiest place to get fur is off of stuffed animals.

School Addles Me.

Here is direct proof of how my badly my brain works after a week of school:

I teach piano to a pair of 6-year old twins, and because they're boys and because they're six, they tend to get distracted really easily. It's my job to make things as interesting as possible, and of course make everything we do into a game! (With winners being them, and loser being me, of course.)

I was playing "guess the word" where I give them notes and it spells out a word that they have to read (because they're in Kindergarten and this helps them) and we came across this:
I was just filling out the "F" at the end, and they asked what word it was.
Me: Hmm... "Deef"? I've never heard that word before.
Boys: What does it mean?
Me: Maybe, some sort of.. I don't know.
Boys: Why would they put a fake word there? Did we still win?
Me: DEAF!
Boys: ?
Me: That's the word. DEAF... I am so dead right now.

And there you have it. I was SO tired that I forgot how to read.
And I did it in front of two six year old boys who probably will never ask me to help them again.

Hug a Tree!

I know that everybody and their mother has been celebrating Earth Day today (or maybe not...) but I wanted to do my part and advertise HUGGING TREES!

Yes, this picture looks really weird, and it's probably because it's not a tree (obviously), it's just a green outline of a tree around a stake. Yes, a stake. You see, on my missions trip, Katie and I planted a stake in the ground and tied flowers and sticks to it to make it look like a tree.. and yeah. We're cool like that. :)

Actually, if you really want them to grow, you can sing or talk to them- that probably helps more than hugging- but the idea is still the same:

Green is good.

You can help our environment in SO many ways, by saving "gray water" (I'll do a DIY soon!), unplugging unused electronics, turning off lights/radios when not in use... the list goes ON and ON!
In my opinion, every day should be earth day. But at least do your part this week and be super conscious of our lovely home- we only have one.

On A Night Like This

Prom (for the most part) was just like I thought it was going to be.

Pretty epic.

Y'all know how much I love hair, right? WELL... I'd been planning prom hair for a long time (Sad, I know. But that's the kind of person I am!) and was really happy with how it turned out!

And then "outie" braided on the sides, and tied/pinned up in the back...

Then CURLY BANG(s)!

The whole ensemble: hair, blue dress (altered by my grandma), silver ribbon (with rosettes lovingly made by my mommy), and silver sweater (for the chillies!).

Oh, and dark red lipstick.

We took pictures and ate at Neha's house and had an AMAZING time.
