Monday Melodies: Lulu and the Lampshades.

For me, a clear indication of a band's awesomeness is by their name.
I know, I know, don't judge a book by it's cover and all that- but seriously.
Here's my formula:

NAME + and the + RANDOM [PLURAL] NOUN = WIN.

You know, Matthew and the Atlas, Vincent Vincent and the Villains, and all that jazz.

Anyways, this Monday Melodies has been brought to you by my new quirky favorite, Lulu and the Lampshades. Their two main singers are not afraid to have their pure, clear voices heard- and for good reason- they have no need for autotune or any of that technology junk!

This picture is totally reminiscent of their style- they're a little strange, a lot gorgeous, and so REAL.

They recorded themselves using only a webcam and two cups and it seriously shows their funky vibe and AMAZING voices. They took that cup rhythm pattern that we have all learned at some point in our elementary school careers, an old folk/campfire chorus, and added their lyrics- Voila!
